The history of the Tissot watch factory goes back to 1853, the location is Le Locle, Switzerland, and its founders are Charles – Félicien Tissot and his son Charles – Emile Tissot. The products of the company, which recently celebrated its 150th anniversary, include the first Anti-magnetic, the first plastic watch IDEA 2001 (Astrolon), the first stone watch: “Rock Watch”, the world’s first wooden watch: “Wood Watch”, and today’s world novelty is the “T-Touch”, which is a model with touch-sensitive glass, and its wealth of functions is impressive even for the people of the modern age. As a member of the Swatch Group, they are present all over the world, with their collection conquering 140 countries. The Tissot name is not unknown in the world of sports either, since the downhill ski race in Switzerland in 1938 and the Davis Cup time trial in the USA are all to their credit. In 1973, Tissot participated in the Monte Carlo Rally and in 1974 in the Le Mans race. In 1976, he came into contact with Formula 1 competitions as a sponsor of the Ensing team. In 1979, Tissot became the main sponsor of one of the most successful teams, the British Lotus Team.

Tissot is based on significant historical values ​​and deeply embedded traditions. In addition, the innovative spirit and commitment to the art of watchmaking, typical from day one, led the company to the creation of many classic and world-first products, with which it wrote watch history. The series began in 1853 with the first pocket watch that could display two different time zones. Another major advance in breakthrough multi-time zone technology came in 1953 with the Tissot Navigator, the first watch to display all 24 time zones. Regarding design, we can mention the famous Tissot banana watch from 1916 as an example, which caused a stir with its curved watch case.

Other milestones include the world’s first anti-magnetic Tissot watch from 1930, which was adapted to the challenges of the era and resisted interference from magnetic fields.
