Joseph Bulova opened his small jewelry store in New York in 1875 at the age of 23 - since then, Bulova has grown into a watch brand symbolizing the unity of old-time craftsmanship and new-time innovations. 

Famous for his love of experimentation, Joseph Bulova devotedly searched for unexploited opportunities in the world of timekeeping and became obsessed with the development of new production processes and marketing methods.

Bulova started producing table and pocket watches in 1911, the sales figures of which were very successful. At that time, only the wealthier elite could afford the luxury watches. Before they became more widespread, Joseph Bulova was determined to develop and manufacture the highest quality watches and sell them at competent, affordable prices through retailers to meet the ever-increasing demand. This is how Bulova became the leader of the industry by the mid-1920s. Following his idea, he created and introduced complete women's and men's collections in the world of watches, reforming watchmaking. The brand has gained a great reputation thanks to continuous innovations and high accuracy of the watches. 

A textbook example of the company's pioneering marketing methods is the support of sports. In 1927, Charles A. Lindbergh, who was one of the brand's most devoted fans, was presented with a Bulova watch by the watch manufacturer as a token of appreciation for his flight across the Atlantic Ocean. This watch was named the Lone Eagle.
Towards the end of the 1920s, Charles A. Lindbergh became the face of the brand and appeared in Bulova's advertising campaigns.
